(COLO) – Since the *CSP (*277) program was implemented in July 1998, Colorado motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians have reported thousands of “real-time” suspected impaired drivers. Just this year from January through July 31, the Colorado State Patrol Communication Centers have answered over 14,370 calls.
(Colorado) – If you are taking a trip to Southwest Colorado chances are you are hoping to see the beautiful scenery as head to your final destination. The Colorado State Patrol wants to encourage the driver to pull off at scenic overlooks and rest stops instead of driving while distracted or parking on the shoulder of the road.
(COLO) – In a contest between a vehicle vs a pedestrian or a vehicle vs. a bike, there is no debate about who has the greatest chance of survival. Yet, when the Colorado State Patrol looked at their citation data over a three-year period (2019-2021), they saw that 2021 had the highest year of citations related to pedestrians and bicycles.
COLORADO - The Colorado State Patrol has always taken pride in the vehicles they use to ensure safety, and now they are asking for help in showing them off across the country. Each year the American Association of State Troopers (AAST), holds the "Best Looking Cruiser" contest, setting the stage for a friendly competition between the 50 state police agencies to see who will land on a calendar for the following year. Voting began yesterday August 8, 2022, and goes through Thursday, August 25, 2022, at 3 PM.

Ensuring the vehicle is hitched safely, distributing the weight on the trailer or camper properly and driving responsibly is key in avoiding trailer sway.
(COLO) – Over a three-year period, from 2019 through 2021, Colorado State Patrol troopers have investigated over 1,750 fatal and injury crashes determined to be caused by impaired drivers. Year after year numbers expands during warmer months with the top month for impaired crashes being July.
(COLO) – If you hold a valid driver’s license, chances are pretty high that the driving instructor or manual you read to prepare you for driving covered the importance of being intentional about where you placed your vehicle in the lane as you were driving. Earlier today, the Colorado State Patrol reminded drivers that the primary lane position for your vehicle in normal circumstances is the center of the lane. This helps ensure that drivers are reducing their risk of costly and potentially deadly collisions.
(COLO) –Following the unfortunate record high Motor Vehicle Thefts reported in Colorado during 2021, Colorado continues to exceed the number of vehicles stolen each month when compared to the previous year. The most recent numbers available, January through May 2022, show an 18% increase this year to date from the record-setting numbers of 2021.
(Colorado) – The winding scenic roads of southwest Colorado are both charming and hazardous. This is why Colorado State Patrol troopers are asking visitors and residents to respect the speed limit and familiarize themselves with common traits of two-lane roads in rural and mountain areas. Between Memorial Day and Labor Day of 2021, Colorado troopers covering the southwest region responded to 21 fatal crashes. Eleven of those crashes (52%) involved drivers crossing the center line of their lane or the exterior lane line.
Following another incident earlier this week on Wednesday where a Colorado State Patrol motorcycle and local tow truck were hit during a crash investigation near Colorado Springs, yesterday morning another CSP vehicle was struck while helping a stranded motorist.
