Colorado State Patrol Steps In to Help One Colorado Family Give the Gift of a Lifetime

(COLO.) – Many Coloradan’s started their Christmas morning off with family and friends opening gifts., including Karly Means, 26, of Centennial, who has a rare genetic condition called Williams Syndrome. As Karly unwrapped and opened a box prepared by her parents, she didn’t know that gift’s value could never be fit in a box. As she pulled out a piece of paper, she became visibly emotional and filled with joy and excitement. The gift to Karly was an invitation to visit the Colorado State Patrol Training Academy.

Colorado State Patrol Issues a Stern Reminder: Prepare Your Car and Change Your Mindset for Winter Driving

(COLO) – With more snow arriving across the State, the Colorado State Patrol is reminding all motorists, both commercial and passenger vehicle drivers, to be prepared with the right equipment for the weather. During storms, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will implement traction laws when conditions require.

Six Crash Responder Vehicles Struck Over Three Day Period

(COLORADO) –Despite recent warnings issued about the weather, traction and chain laws, and even the Slow Down Move Over Law, six collisions with crash responder vehicles took place between December 25 through December 27 on I-70. In all but one incident, first responders were conducting a crash investigation of other drivers when they too were struck by a passing motorist.

Colorado State Patrol Sends a Sobering Message This Holiday Season

 

(COLORADO) – Drivers of all ages often feel vulnerable to drunk drivers and this concern only grows during the holiday season. Already in 2021, there have been over 220 deaths caused by impaired drivers in Colorado. That’s why Colonel Matthew Packard, Chief of the Colorado State Patrol, is delivering a special video message this holiday season to remind our Colorado driving community they have the power to make a choice and build a plan before the party begins.

Public Notice: Colorado State Patrol Seeks Comments for Accreditation Assessment

(COLORADO) - Colorado State Patrol’s (CSP) Chief Matthew Packard would like to announce a team from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA) will be assessing the Colorado State Patrol from November 29 - December 1, 2021.   The assessments will examine all aspects of the agency's policies, procedures, management, operations, and all support services.  Due to precautions surrounding COVID-19, the site-based assessments will be conducted virtually.
