Colorado State Trooper Involved In Fruita Crash Identified

(FRUITA, COLO) On July 27, 2023, at approximately 4:10 PM, an on-duty Colorado State Trooper was involved in a crash at the intersection of 22 Road and K Road in Fruita, Colorado, involving the trooper's vehicle and a passenger vehicle.                                                       

The 21st Judicial District Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT)  handled the investigation and gathering of information.                                         

The Grand Junction Police Department will release additional details on behalf of the 21st Judicial District Critical Incident Response Team.

ADDITIONAL

The Colorado State Patrol (CSP) Trooper involved in the crash on Thursday, July 27 2023 in Fruita has been identified as Trooper Brad Latchaw.

Trooper Latchaw has been with the CSP since June 30th, 2005, and is assigned to the Motor Carrier Services Section in Grand Junction.

Trooper Latchaw was treated at the local hospital. He's been released and is home recovering from injuries sustained in the crash.
