(COLO) – The Colorado State Patrol has always taken pride in the vehicles they use while fulfilling their mission to save lives across Colorado, and now they are asking for the community’s help in showcasing one of their cruisers across the country. Each year, the American Association of State Troopers (AAST) holds the "America’s Best Looking Cruiser" contest, setting the stage for a friendly competition between the 50 state police agencies to see who will land in a calendar for the following year. Voting begins today, Monday, July 15, at noon MST and runs through Monday, July 29, 2024, 10:00 PM MST.
"Not only are our vehicles our offices, but they are also a source of distinction and embody what it means to be in Colorado by being both rugged and beautiful," says Colonel Matthew C Packard, Chief of the Colorado State Patrol. “We missed making it into the calendar last year, so we’re asking for your help by casting your online vote.”
In fact, the Florida Highway Patrol has taken the contest to a new level this year as they attempt to repeat their win from 2023 with the coveted cover page. Colorado State Patrol is already causing them concern, as they have been watching the CSP Instagram and Facebook posts preparing for this year’s competition. And….we might be having some fun with them too (FB Post and Instagram Post).
To cast your vote in the “2024 Best Looking Cruiser Contest,” you can vote through the link provided by the American Association of State Troopers (AAST). Simply click the link and scroll through the state agency photos to find your favorite cruiser – which we hope is Colorado! To cast your vote, scroll through the photos, and at the bottom of the page, select your favorite cruiser from the drop-down menu. You must also answer the simple Captcha question to submit the vote. Agency rankings will be posted on the Facebook page daily.
Our social media followers voted on Colorado’s photo submission in June. You can vote for this image on the AAST website.
The winner will be presented with the “Best Looking Cruiser Award” and featured on the cover of the AAST’s “America’s Best Looking Trooper Cruisers 2025 Wall Calendar.” The calendars will be available for purchase at www.statetroopers.org beginning October 1, 2024. Calendar sales will benefit the American Association of State Troopers Foundation, which provides educational scholarships to dependents of member troopers.
