Bulletproof Vest Partnership Program
The Bulletproof Vest Partnership (BVP) was created by the Bulletproof Vest Partnership Grant Act of 1998. This is a unique U. S. Department of Justice initiative designed to provide critical resources to state and local law enforcement agencies.
All state and local agencies can apply for assistance under this program. However, the Colorado State Patrol only coordinates state agency applications (as determined by the Governor).
The application announcement is usually posted within the first quarter of the calendar year, and applications are due mid-March. Funding awards are then announced in mid-October.
Currently, there is no grant funding available for state agencies. Local law enforcement agencies can click on the link below to learn more about the funding opportunities offered by the partnership.

Please be advised that all agencies applying for the BVP must have a mandatory wear policy in place at the time of application submission, and all vests purchased must be NIH compliant.
Please contact Colorado State Patrol Grant Manager JoAnna Pruitt at 303-239-4538 with any questions that you may have regarding the BVP.
