Instructions to complete this assessment:

Take a moment and imagine the various relationships you have in your life.  Examples might be your supervisor at work, one of the team members that you work with, or maybe someone else from a committee or work project that you have been assigned to.

Keep this relationship in mind as you review each pair of statements that you will be shown on each question (there are going to be 30 pairs). For each numbered question, consider which of the two statements feels most accurate to you regarding the context / set of relationships you selected.  The key to making this meaningful is to be honest with yourself and not overthink it.  Go through each set of statements fairly quickly.  It doesn't matter what relationship context you choose, but it's helpful to think of the same one throughout the entire assessment.

If you would like, you can take the assessment again with another one in mind.  You might choose something outside of work.  For example your family or community group.  We often use different conflict styles in different contexts/with different relationships.

When you have proceeded through and answered all 30 questions you will be sent an email with the name of the conflict style your answers reflected for each numbered question.  You will be given a link to download a PDF tally sheet to record your results and help determine your conflict management style in the context / set of relationships you selected.  You can print them off or save them as files for reference when you come to your week of in-service training.  Each time you complete the assessment, you will be sent an email with your answers.

This assessment is for your own personal development and is confidential and not reviewed by anyone.  The website compiles your answers and sends you an automated email with the results.  In light of this, if you do not enter your email in correctly, you will not receive your results and your answers are not saved in any system for someone else to retrieve.  Also, if you are completing more than one assessment, you will have the opportunity to enter a key word at the beginning so that you can remember which email goes with each relationship you use.

Finally, you will also be provided with a link to a document that explains each of the conflict styles with their pros and cons.  There are no "right" answers, just insight that will help you develop your personal and professional relationships.
